Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry Calendar Christ the King offers many opportunities for youth to share their faith with each other, the rest of the congregation and the world around them. The primary activities organized by CtK Youth Ministries are youth-focused activities at the National, Regional and Local level. Opportunities to Serve through Youth Ministry Mission Statement "To provide a supportive environment that empowers the young community to express, enhance and explore their faith as Disciples of Christ." National & Regional Youth from Christ the king participate in the ELCA national youth gatherings that occur every three years. They also participate in Synod level events and events held at Camp Calumet, the primary Outdoor Ministry facility in the New England Synod. Local Each year Christ the King Youth Ministries sponsors a lock-in at a local health club that opens up with a Christian music concert and continues until morning with swimming, games and fellowship. This lock-in attracts Christian youth from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Youth Group meetings are held monthly after a 10:30 worship service. They always include food and may include games, movies and discussions. Ministry Opportunities The "Ministry" of Youth Ministries is centered in the Faith Inkubators confirmation program, which provides a multi-media learning environment in fellowship with many adults. This program is instrumental in engaging our youth in hands-on service. Our first weeklong off-site service trip is planned for the summer of 2005. Opportunity Details Youth are not only the future of the church. They are the church today! Every effort is made to integrate youth into the life of the congregation. Confirmed youth are adult members of the congregation with all of the associated privileges and responsibilities. We emphasize the notion that we are not trying to prepare youth for their future discipleship but instead that each day provides opportunities to respond to God's love. |
